The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. I believe in our future.

The Tibetan Antelope Kneeling On Its knees
Today I am going to tell you a true story about a life-altering event that happened to an old hunter from Tibet’s northern lands.
Early in the morning,the hunter saw a group of Tibetan antelopes on grass hill near his tent.He rushed out of his tent and mounted his horse with his rifle.The antelopes all quickly ran away except one.A strong,fat one ran only a few steps and came back.It looked imploringly at him,stepped up towards him and then knelt on its knees with tears streaming down from its eyes.Feeling softhearted for a flashing moment,the hunter did not pull the trigger.But after he shut his eyes,pulled the trigger and the antelope fell onto the ground in a kneeling position with discernible tears still on its face.
The old hunter restlessly cut the Tibetan antelope open.What he had saw made him choke on his breath and the knife fell on the ground with a crash.He saw a baby antelope lying in the womb,surely dead.All of a sudden he realized why the antelope was strong and fat and why it heavily knelt before him and cried: It was imploring him to have mercy on its baby!
The old hunter buried the antelope and its unborn baby together with his hunting rifle that day
I will never forget this story.Today I told it to more people and I’d like to point out: In the world the kneeling of loving mothers,whatever of human being or animal is sacred.Lives of all kinds are equal.Let us care about the nature,care about our life with our affection and respect to the life.Hopefully we could live harmoniously,as part of nature.
跪拜的藏羚羊
今天我要告诉大家一个发生在西藏北部的故事.这件事,促使一位老猎人改变了对生命的认识.
那天清晨,老猎人看到不远的草坡上有一群藏羚羊,立即跨上烈马,追了过去,藏羚羊四处逃窜,奇怪的是,有只肥壮的藏羚羊没跑多远,却转过身来,用乞求的眼神望着他,然后冲向他前行两步,两条前腿扑通一声跪了下来,与此同时,两行长泪从它眼里流出.老猎人心头一软,扣动扳机的手不由地松了一下,可是随即他双眼一闭,枪声响起,那只藏羚羊栽倒在地,倒地后仍然是跪卧的姿势.脸颊上的两行泪迹仍然清晰地留着.
老猎人怀着忐忑不安的心情对那只藏羚羊开膛扒皮,眼前的'一切让他屏住了呼吸,手中的屠刀咣当一声掉在地上,原来在藏羚羊的子宫里静静地卧着一只小藏羚羊,它已经成型,自然是死了.这时候老猎人才明白为什么这只藏羚羊的身体特别肥壮,也明白了它为什么给自己下跪,流泪.它是求猎人留下自己孩子的生命呀!
当天,老猎人将那只藏羚羊连同它没有出世的孩子掩埋了,同时埋掉的还有他的枪.

School had been very easy for me in the beginning.I had been the usual routine---show up for school,complete assignments,take tests,get grades.And that was usually straight A’s.I thought school was that easy.
Suddenly middle school began.Sure,I was a top student for six years,why would it be any harder? It was; the bad mark in a pop quiz deeply humbled me.
I became very resentful and angry about my situation.I felt so depressed for feeling inferior.

各位老师：
大家好！
在座的都是初中英语界的精英，很荣幸今天有机会和大家一起就中考英语总复习进行一些探讨与交流，下面我将从六个方面谈谈初三英语总复习的一些教学思路和建议，不妥之处请各位同行批评指正。
一、加强思想教育，加强师生沟通与交流
在中考复习过程中，至关紧要的是必须解决学生的思想问题，让学生听从老师的安排，紧跟老师的步伐，配合老师的行动。现在的学生，不能投入时间和精力学习，或者没能学到更好，大多数不是因为智力障碍，而是非智力因素比如情感、意志等决定的，所以了解学生的现状，让学生立刻投入到初三复习的紧张状态是我们首先要做的。我们老师在平时的学习生活中，尤其是考前要和学生多谈心，多交流，多鼓励，使其消除顾虑，树立信心，以最佳姿态迎接复习和考试。
二、制定好适合自己学校的复习计划
很多学校采取的是三轮复习法，即第一轮：基础知识复习；第二轮：语法及专项训练；第三轮：综合模拟训练和应试技巧。我认为，总复习时间那么短，不见得要安排多少轮，扎扎实实搞好一轮总复习就够了，可以把原计划的几轮总复习合并成一轮。我们学校这几年来都是一轮复习，在复习基础知识的过程中，穿插各种专项训练和在教师的指导下进行综合练习和模拟测试，侧重训练学生细心审题的能力、解题技巧的运用、答题速度的快慢等等，通过知识考查与能力考查，提高学生的应试技巧。
三、研究中考试题，体会中考命题意图，选好总复习资料和模拟卷
现在市面上有关中考的辅导资料和模拟题卷实在是太多了，选哪种呢？这主要看它是否符合我们xx中考英语命题的趋势与风格，即Style。比如说单项选择题的Style，它不像其它省市一样常考感叹句，冠词，反意疑问句，虚拟语气，复杂的定语从句等内容，在选项的设置上也不会出现选项本身有错误或者一个题目有两个空考查两个知识点的现象，都是在学生能读懂语境的基础上能答对的题目，而有些教辅资料上的如纯语法的题目，特别是与xx中考的命题Style不吻合的题目应该少做或者干脆不做，我们老师应该自己跳进题海，把不做的题先圈出来，精选题目，精讲多练。中考不是简单的单元测试，命题不可能随心所欲，所以我们必须学会研究中考，还要学会捕捉方方面面的信息。比如说多做近几年中考试卷，我们的目的不是仅仅看自己会不会做这些题，而是研究中考试题，进而体会中考命题的意图，决不是仅仅停留在解题的层面。对试卷，至少要做到分析知识点的分布和覆盖程度、难易程度的比例、题型的变化、几年来命题的变化和趋势，这样对复习就会有更大的指导意义。
四、不要试图弄清所有的知识点
从初一到初三，学了很多的单词、词组、句型、语法，对《课程标准》要求的重点单词、词组、句型、语法，重点处理。对一些不常用的词、不要求运用的语法，灵活处理，学生能理解就行。复习时间短，容量大，如果处理不当，会造成顾此失彼的结果，所以应合理安排复习内容及着重点。对于重点单词、词组我们基本上都是在早读课给学生时间熟读、背诵然后再听写或让学生根据印好的英语单词材料写汉语意思，对于复习资料里的重点句型和语法也是早读课或正课时给学生时间自己去读，查缺补漏，划出重点，然后老师再稍微提一些学生易错的、薄弱的知识点。有的语言性的东西，不是我们老师讲的越多，学生就越懂，关键是要给学生一些时间去积累和领悟。
五、不要放松听力训练
考前放松听力训练有三种可能：一是有的老师认为学生的听力不行，反正再练也不会有什么提高，所以干脆放弃；二是有的老师认为自学生的听力已达到了一定的水平，而其他方面还比较薄弱，暂时把听力放下，强化一下其他方面；三是学校没有相应的听力书及磁带。前两种想法都很危险。经验告诉我们，听力是一种比其他能力（如阅读能力、写作能力等）更容易丧失的.能力，不容片刻忽视。听力练习应贯穿于整个中考复习过程，不能等到最后一个月或者几天来“临阵磨枪”。所以我们学校在初三总复习之前就开始每天晚上6：20开始用广播播放一套中考模拟听力，并且在平时复习课堂上兼顾听力训练，一节课会拿出部分时间来练习听力中的某一个题型，如小对话或大对话或独白或新题型。而且在训练过程中注意听前的预测，听中的策略和听后的反馈等，注意培养学生在听的过程中抓住关键词、主要信息、了解大意以及理解说话人的态度、意图的能力。
今年的听力C部分由原来的“听短文填表格”改成了“听短文，补全五个句子”，每个空格不超过三个单词；至少有三个句子为听力原文，1—2个句子根据原文进行了改编。该题考点发生了一些变化：原来填表格更多的是名词，但改了后可能考查到各种词性，有可能考查名词（作主语、宾语）、谓语动词、形容词（作定语、表语）、副词（作状语）等。要填写的单词应该是学生在听懂了短文基础上都会写的单词。先不管这道题的难度到底是降低还是加大，目前大部分学校手头都没有这种新题型的听力，怎么办呢？其实我们老师完全可以把原来听力资料里的听短文填表格改成五个句子给学生训练，甚至有的独白部分也可以改成新题型，写在小黑板上或打印出来给学生练习。
六、多在课堂上训练完形填空和阅读理解
中考复习练习的设计要更多地从单句层面向语篇层面过渡，不要花过多的时间去讲解单项选择题，每节课至少留出一刻钟让学生做题，尤其是完形填空和阅读理解。所以我们在平时的训练中，会精选题目，让学生在课堂上完成，并且限时训练。阅读理解里的细节理解题可以粗讲或不讲，在阅读活动中渗透阅读策略，着重培养他们的逻辑推理和判断能力、语篇概括能力，避免“只见树木不见森林”。阅读要有步骤，让学生领会全文的意思，把握文章的中心，紧扣作者的写作意图，避免片段式或支离破碎式的理解。
中考英语复习时间短、任务重，如何进行有效、高效的复习还需要我们不断地探索与实践，但是不管多难多苦多累，只要我们老师摆正好心态，面对中考复习有耐心、有激情，相信我们的英语中考今年会再上一个台阶。
