申请准备
对于申请舞蹈专业的同学来说，申请时需要做的包括填写网申表格，大学成绩单，语言成绩，专业简历，个人陈述，提供3封推荐信，作品集等。
以UIUC为例，舞蹈专业的录取要求包括了舞蹈本科背景，大学成绩基点达到3以上，对于国际生来说，还有一项重要的任务就是语言成绩，UIUC要求申请者语言成绩托福至少79分以上，并且在入学后需要参加EPT语言测试，托福在103分以上则可以免去EPT语言考试，由此可以看出虽然作为艺术专业，但对语言要求依然严苛。
对于作品的准备 ，虽然各学校要求不同，但总体说来要求便是Demonstrated choreographic ability, creative andintellectual curiosity, and an appetite for discovery.
具体体现出来便是2到3段表演作品，时长从1小时到1一个半小时不等。
以下要求节选自Calarts MFA Choreography专业：
Two or three complete works (no excerpts) ofgroup choreography of a live performance recorded. Do not submit work recordedin a dance studio. Applicants must include complete credits for each piece ofchoreography they submit. To do so, please upload a document with your onlineportfolio submission that clearly identifies each piece of choreography alongwith complete credits ie; choreographers, collaborators, performers, designers(lighting, costume, etc.) and the venue that each piece was performed in. Other examples of creative work, such assite-specific, dance-video, etc., are also welcome.
最后提醒：舞蹈专业的截止日期一般比较早，有意向申请的同学需要尽早的进行规划，尤其不要放松对语言的学习。
