Aberystwyth大学是威尔士联合大学历史最为悠久的一座大学，该大学目前有在校学生近7000人，其中包括1000多名研究生，留学生来自90多个国家和地区。
校内的体育、娱乐设施与学生会共同构成了一个活跃的学生社区，学生会成立了多种业余爱好俱乐部与协会，该大学拥有自己的体育场地，包括一座校内全天候运动场、一座体育馆、室内运动场以及一座游泳池。阿伯斯维思威尔士大学的图书馆设施在英国首屈一指，其组成部分包括与该校毗邻的威尔士国立图书馆、大学图书馆、各系的图书馆以及图书馆学系。语言与学习中心为全体外国留学生提供语言辅导，帮助他们掌握学习技巧。校内计算机房的数量正在不断增加，其中大多数为全天24小时开放，所有的学生均有自己的电子邮件地址。所有的单身留学生均可住宿，宿舍分为自炊式和“即买即吃”餐式两种。
