RMIT的传媒学院主要开设游戏及动画方向、广告/设计/摄影方向、大众传媒/出版业方向、音乐/影视/多媒体方向4大类的课程。communication Design隶属于广告/设计/摄影方向，主要学习各种平面类的设计课程，如品牌标志、产品的包装，杂志封面，平面广告等。具体信息如下：

课程内容：communication strategies，conceptual thinking，design process， media, publication，strategic branding，typography等。
毕业走向：毕业后可在平面设计公司、综合型业务企业、出版社、多媒体公司、广告公司等从事艺术总监、平面艺术设计师、视觉传达设计人员、网页设计员等。
语言要求：雅思总分6.5分，单科6分以上，或网考托福总分92分，单科20分以上
学术成绩入学要求：
成功完成学校预科课程;或
中国高中毕业，高中成绩80%以上，或符合学校要求的高考(举例：北京2013年高考成绩454以上);或
完成1年以上相关专业本科课程，成绩优良;或
完成RMIT 2年Advance Diploma of Graphic Design(可减免一定的本科课程学分)
作品集要求：要求提供至少6幅作品。作品集需要以光盘形式递交，作品形式不限，可以是素描、平面图、照片、数字影像、模型、视频、2D/3D FLASH等，申请人需要表述整个作品集的构思及实现全过程，并对每个作品进行逐一的详细解释。
面试要求：学校可能会对申请人进行面试，对作品集进行讨论和评定。

What kinds of skills that you developed in your studies are mostuseful now?
“Our lecturer Renato once told us to enjoy Uni as it is the last time we will get to be completely creative and surrounded by like minded people. It is so true as unfortunately when you have your own business there are so many other hats to wear and hurdles to overcome.
RMIT was fantastic as it really allowed us to develop our creative and conceptual skill set. It also provided us with opportunities to explore different areas of design such as advertising, illustration and photography. All invaluable skills when running a full service creative studio.……”
What is your advice to people thinking of a career in design?
“Work hard. Even though design is a creative field, it takes hard work and long hours to achieve results. You also need to realize that you will not always get to work on your dream project, so you need to learn how to push the brief to get the most out of each job.”
