The College of Arts & Sciences is central to Ohio University's transformative learning experience. The foundational instruction for the entire university, delivered through the general education and liberal arts curriculum, is provided by the College of Arts & Sciences. The college provides the primary instruction for approximately one-third of the undergraduate majors on campus, as well as half of the undergraduate credit hours on the Athens campus. In addition, the College offers a number of master's programs, and eight departments offer doctoral degrees.
A&S faculty are at the heart of Ohio University’s research activity. In 2012-13, faculty wrote 30 books, authored 639 journal articles, and gave 916 conference presentations.

4.College of Health Sciences and Professions
This is a place where unexpected things happen. A place where students learn and work in an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating on research, care simulations and community outreach. This is a place where students from the School of Nursing engage in health emergency simulations alongside medical school students; where exercise physiology students work alongside physical therapy students in our WellWorks fitness center; and where undergraduate students in Communication Sciences and Disorders partner with research assistants in the Neurolinguistics Laboratory. It’s a place where RN to BSN nursing students and health administrators can earn degrees online through a high-tech program yet still strengthen their passion for personal and proactive care. This is where purposeful lives and brilliant careers begin.

6.Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education
The Patton College prepares educators, practitioners and human service professionals to be leaders. The Patton College has more than 100 faculty members serving more than 1,500 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. Housed in McCracken Hall, we have proud history spanning over 125 years.
The Patton College is the home to several excellent programs housed in five academic departments: Counseling and Higher Education, Human and Consumer Sciences, Educational Studies, Recreation and Sport Pedagogy, and Teacher Education.
