　　W: I think it is a very beautiful city. There are so many nice houses in these little winding streets, you know, going up the hills and down the hills, and you get the old, the historical trams.

　　M: Yeah, actually I think the Bridge is the most amazing. San Francisco is nice. But one problem is that it’s really expensive to live there.

　　Good afternoon, everybody. Thank you for inviting me here to talk about safety in the dormitory and personal security. First, a few points to bear in mind. You’ll notice the doors of your dormitory have two types of locks. Make sure you double lock your door however long you are going out for. Make sure all the windows are closed when you go out. If you have got expensive equipment in your room, first of all, insure it. About personal security, avoid walking alone late at night, especially females. Avoid dark streets, and try to stick to the well-lit areas whenever possible. Also if you know you are going to be out late, make sure you’ve got enough money for a taxi to get home, or arrange to stay with friends for the night. The university actually offers free self-defense classes. I hope it’s something you’d never have to use, but it is certainly worth having such classes.
