Who is an International Applicant?
You are considered an international applicant if any of the following applies to you:
(1) Foreign national whose parents have foreign citizenship.
(2) Irrespective of nationality, one who has completed or is scheduled to complete all educational courses, equivalent to primary, secondary and university education in a foreign country for more than 16 years.
Qualification for Application
Application to the graduate school program is open to all qualified applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution (Master’s or Master’s & Ph.D Joint Program), and to those who hold a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from an accredited undergraduate and graduate institution (Doctoral Program).
Minimum language requirement
Applicants must meet one of three language abilities below.
1) TOPIK level 3 (applicant must obtain TOPIK Level 4 or above before dissertation examination)
2) TOEFL PBT 530 (CBT 197, IBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600
3) Applicants are exempt from the language proficiency requirement if they meet only any of the following criteria.
① A person who speak English as the mother tongue.
② (This applies to CAYSS applicants only.) Expecting academic adviser submits the Letter of Recommendation which can verify applicant’s language proficiency and scholastic ability.
③ A person who had high school academic background in English speaking country.
④ A person who completed Korean language course Level 4 or above or who is taking course Level 5 or above at the Korean Language Institute affiliated to the Chung-Ang University.
