*Health Insurance: Participation in NYIT’s Aetna Student Health insurance policy is mandatory for all international students holding a F-1/J-1 visa, for any student living in Manhattan or Old Westbury residence halls, and for all members of NYIT intercollegiate athletic teams. Waiver: Domestic residential students or athletes who can show acceptable proof of comparable insurance coverage may waive the insurance by submitting a waiver application on Aetna online. Meal Plan
Required for all students residing in NYIT housing on the SUNY Old Westbury campus: $2,390 per semester
Includes:
$990 in Dining Dollars to use at any NYIT dining facility, credited to your NYIT ID card
$125 in Flex Funds to use in any NYIT location accepting Flex Funds (bookstore, cafe, library, etc.), credited to your NYIT ID card.
Choice of SUNY Old Westbury meal plan:
Option 1: 10 SUNY cafeteria meals and $435 SUNY dining dollars
Option 2: 14 SUNY cafeteria meals and $385 SUNY dining dollars
Option 3: 19 SUNY cafeteria meals and $330 SUNY dining dollars
Unused NYIT Dining Dollars or Flex Funds do not roll over to the next semester. SUNY dining dollars may be used in all SUNY dining facilities. Unused SUNY dollars are rolled over from fall to spring semester and may be used over intersession, but expire at the end of spring semester. You may pay for a guest’s meal with your NYIT or SUNY dining dollars, but may not use two meal plan meals at once.

Meal Plan
Residents of Anderson Hall: First-year students will have a declining balance meal plan ($1,287.50 per semester) at the Manhattan School of Music’s dining hall. This amount, which is included in the cost of the room, will cover the cost of most dining hall meals. For meals outside of the dining hall, you will receive $100 Flex Dollars, credited to your student ID card
Residents of Riverside Residence Hall: As there is no meal plan offered at Riverside Hall, you will be responsible for your own meals. There are kitchens on each floor and you may have a refrigerator and microwave in your room. You will also receive $100 in Flex Dollars and $100 in Dining Dollars, credited to your student ID card, to spend at the Manhattan Student Activities Building for snacks and other essentials
