Entry Requirements
Undergraduate Programmes:
Candidates are expected to have achieved a Senior High School Graduation Diploma plus 1 year in a recognised Higher Education Institution (with 60% pass mark), including an IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each part of the test (or equivalent).
Postgraduate Programmes:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor Degree, or its equivalent, from a recognised University/College of Higher Education with a minimum of 2.2 Bachelor: 75% (70% for 211/985) awarded with a IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each part of the test (or equivalent).
English Language Entry Requirements
International applicants are expected to demonstrate a good level of English for entry into the UK and for our courses. English Language requirements are normally judged in terms of formal IELTS (International English Language Testing System), this is because IELTS is widely available at thousands of testing centres worldwide.
We accept IELTS tests taken at ANY test centre and not just those listed as SELT for visa purposes.
The University also recognises a range of other English Language tests and qualifications as well as those which are recognised by UK Visas and Immigration as being secure English language tests.
Undergraduate Degrees
Most academic departments will ask for an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) for undergraduate degrees but there are exceptions and you should always check with the individual departments, or check the conditions included in your offer letter.
Postgraduate Degrees

What can I do if my score is below the required level?
If your score falls below the required level of IELTS 6.0 (undergraduate) or IELTS 6.5 (postgradaute), we recommend that you attend our English Language pre-sessional courses delivered by our English Lanuage Training Services (ELTS).
English Lanuage Training Services (ELTS) is accredited by both the British Council and BALEAP and offer a fantastic range of programmes to improve your English language and academic study skills before starting your degree, we are also able to tailor programmes to suit groups and offer a range of exciting Summer Programmes.
If your English Language scores IELTS 4.0 or below we advise that you should study English Language at your local school, college or accreditied English Language providers.
