A good Bachelor degree or a Masters degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university of appropriate standing will normally be required.
Loughborough University recognises that there is a tremendous diversity within the Higher Education system in China. The marks required for entry to Loughborough University will vary according to the Chinese university attended as well as the programme applied for. In general terms, students will normally be required to pass a 4 year Bachelor degree in an appropriate subject with an average mark of at least 75% (depending on the postgraduate degree programme that they want to study at Loughborough University).
Students who are completing an undergraduate diploma will not normally be considered eligible for entry to a Masters or Research degree programme. They might, however, be considered for advanced entry to an undergraduate degree programme.
Standard English language requirements
The standard University IELTS English language requirements is 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each individual element (reading, writing, listening and speaking). Some departments may require higher levels English language (see below in Approved Qualifications).

Students who fall short of the University's English language requirements may, at the discretion of academic schools/departments, be admitted onto a pre-sessional English language programme as an alternative way to satisfy the requirements. Only applicants who select Loughborough University as their firm choice will be permitted to attend a pre-sessional English language programme.
