Language of Instruction
The courses in Augsburg are mainly taught in German, except for some master study programs. In addition, every faculty offers some courses in English. As this is subject to change each semester, further information can be found on the respective faculty pages.
German Language Courses
The university offers German language courses from level A1 to C2 (Common European Framework (CEF)).

Accommodation
Students of the University of Augsburg can choose between many types of accommodation. The university itself does not provide any halls of residence; nevertheless, it cooperates very closely with the organization „Studentenwerk“, which manages 6 halls in Augsburg. In general, however, students in Augsburg live in shared flats/apartments. It is not difficult to find a shared flat in Augsburg, and the rental prices are relatively low in comparison to other German cities.
Catering
The University of Augsburg has a large canteen („Mensa“) and two cafeterias. The Mensa is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and provides around 15 different dishes a day at very reaso - nable prices (€1.70 – €3.50). In the cafeterias, students can sip their first morning cup of coffee or tea, cappuccino or cocoa from 7:00 a.m. on. In summer, students can take their food and drinks outside and enjoy them on the terrace.
