Living Expenses
Obviously living expenses mainly depend on your personal lifestyle. Please consider that living abroad is always expensive. Taking all items into account students have to expect expenses of approximately 600 to 700 € per month. To be on the safe side, please make sure you have enough money to make a living. You can not count on regular financial support during your studies.
Rent: 200 - 400 €, a one time payment of 20,00 € service fee (only at the "Studentenwerk") and about 300 € deposit
Health insurance: since Januar 1, 2015 all public health insurance companies demand a so called supplemental premium, which is defi ned by each insurance provider. Monthly student rates consist of: health insurance + supplemental premium + long term care insurance. On average, the health insurance contribution is about 81 €.
Lunch at the mensa: The price of one meal is about 1,90 - 5,00 €.
Semester Ticket: 114,00 € (per semester) for public transportation in the region
Teaching materials: 30 - 100 € specialist literature, schoolbooks, textbooks and equipment
Studentenwerk-fee: Ulm University: 78,00 € per semester,
Administration fee of the state of Baden-Württemberg: 60,00 € per semester in Ulm and 30 € for students of Business Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Logistics and Health Information Management
Fee for constituted student body:
University Ulm: 19,00 € per semester (also during academic leave of absence)
Tuition Fees
There are no tuition fees in bachelor and consecutive master programmes. Tuition fees are payable in the master programmes Actuarial Science, Advanced Oncology, Innovation and Science Management and Sensor System Engineering.
The following fees are payable by all students (per semester):
Administration fee ： 60.00 €
Student Union fee: 79.50 €
Fee for constituted student body : 19,00 €
Total amount :158.50 €
The fees have to be paid by 10 February for a summer semester and by 10 August for a winter semester (during the re-registration process). Late payments will be assessed a late fee in the amount of 20.00 euro
Fee Refunds
Tuition and administration fees as well as the fee for the constituted student body will be reimbursed if the prerequisites are fulfilled. The fees will be transferred to the known account. You do not have to fill in any forms. A form is necessary however if you wish a refund of the student union fee (link to the form to the right).
Administration fees in the amount of 60.00 euros will be refunded in the following cases:
· University withdrawal with immediate effect within a month of lecture commencement
Fees for constituted student body in the amount of 19.00 euros will be refunded in the following cases:
· University withdrawal with immediate effect within a month of lecture commencement
Student union fees in the amount of 77.00 euros will be refunded in the following cases:
· University withdrawal before semester commencement plus two weeks (14.10. or 14.04.), deadline for your application is the end of the first month in each semester (31.10. or 30.04.)
· Admission and enrolment at another university within the first month of the semester, deadline for your application is the end of the second month in each semester (30.11. or 31.05.)
Late fees in the amount of 20.00 euros will not be refunded.
