Being a new student in a new place will certainly bring expenses, especially in the beginning. To help you plan ahead, we would like to draw your attention to some of the costs you will face when you arrive.
General Student Budget per semester
The Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund estimates that the average expenditure for students is NOK 97 850/- per academic year (10 months) or NOK 48 925/- per semester (5 months). The following is a modest budget for one semester, for an average student (below age 30). Please note that personal expenses such as clothing, health care expenses, leisure activities, and initial expenses such as bedding and kitchen supplies (see above) etcetera are not included.
