BSc, MSc and PhD studies at SSE are free of charge for European citizens.
To ensure access to higher education and to attract qualified students, the Swedish government funds all higher education in Sweden for citizens of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Switzerland. Thus, if you have a citizenship in a EU or EEA country, or Switzerland, BSc, MSc and PhD studies at SSE are free of charge (MBA Executive Format excluded).
Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens
BSc programs: 100 000 SEK / year
MSc programs: 150 000 SEK / year
Scholarships for non-EU/EEA citizens
SSE administrates a number of tuition scholarships for successfully admitted students to the MSc programs. Those are available for non-EU/EEA citizens on the competitive basis. The application for scholarship is submitted together with the application for the program and includes a letter of motivation. For the moment SSE can offer 2 scholarships that cover tuition fees and living expenses, 4 scholarships that cover only tuition fees, and a number of funds that cover half of the tuition payments.
The Swedish Institute (SI), a government agency, administers over 500 scholarships each year for students and researchers coming to Sweden to pursue their objectives at a Swedish university.
