Students who apply on the application round 2015-2016, are admitted in spring 2016 and enroll in autumn 2016 will not be charged tuition fees during their studies in the International Master’s Degree Programmes at the University of Jyväskylä.
Government proposal on tuition fees
The Finnish government proposes to introduce annual tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students. If the proposal is approved by the Parliament the legislation changes would come into force on 1 January 2016. However, higher education institutions would only be obliged to collect tuition fees from students who start their studies on or after 1 August 2017. According to the proposal, higher education institutions would also be required to set up scholarship programs to support the studies of international students. Tuition fees will not be charged from Doctoral students.
University of Jyväskylä will make a decision on the amount of future tuition fees and the format of the scholarship programme by spring 2016.
