Access to Bristol
The Access to Bristol scheme is an initiative that provides local students with an opportunity to experience life at the University of Bristol, gaining access to its academic expertise and facilities. The scheme is designed as a curriculum enrichment opportunity for students studying A-levels or equivalents and is open to all students in the first or second year of A-level study.
Accompaniment, dissertation, composition and performance prizes
The Music Department may award prizes for the best final year dissertation, the best final year recital, the best composition portfolio and the best work in accompaniment each year on the basis of the examiners' recommendations.
Aga Khan Foundation
The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies, in order to prepare them for employment, primarily within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding Gateway
The Alternative Guide (AGO) is a new web resource for current and prospective postgraduate students (any subject, any nationality) who are looking to fund PhD, Masters, and PGCE study in the UK through grants from charities, trusts, and foundations!
Alumni Academic Achievement Award
The University of Bristol is proud to offer the Alumni Academic Achievement Awards: merit-based awards for undergraduates, offered annually, using funds donated by alumni and friends of the University. The awards recognise academic excellence through one-off awards, normally up to £1,000. The awards will be given to the top first-year student(s) as identified by each faculty.

The Alumni Foundation supports the extra-curricular activities that make Bristol such an exciting and vibrant place to be. Does your club or society need help with funding? Alumni Foundation music bursaries
These bursaries are available to non-Music Department musicians to help with the cost of instrumental or singing lessons. One of the criteria for being awarded a bursary is contribution to University music-making so they can only be held from the second year onwards
Amelia Earhart Fellowship Programme
Established in 1938 in honour of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering.
American Alumni Scholarships
This scholarship was established from a fundraising initiative of Convocation with the American alumni. It is awarded on the grounds of academic excellence, financial need and ambassadorial potential. The scholarship will be held in conjunction with one year taught postgraduate programme in any field of study.
Anglo-Danish Society
This Scholarship is for Danish or British Graduates who should either have embarked on a postgraduate course / research leading to a higher degree, or be assured of being able to do so in the relevant academic year.
Arab British Chamber of Commerce
The Arab-British Chamber Charitable Foundation is set up for the advancement of science and education in Arab countries. It aims to assist in the postgraduate education of those Arab nationals in financial need who have chosen to study subjects of relevance and potential practical value to the student's home country and who are committed, upon conclusion of their studies, to return to their home country, or to another Arab state, in order to pass on the expertise acquired during their education.

Arts and Humanities Foundation Year Bursary

Audio Engineering Society
The Audio Engineering Society Educational Foundation is dedicated to encouraging the entry of talented students into the profession of audio engineering. Since its establishment in 1984, the Foundation has awarded grants for graduate studies to hundreds of exceptional applicants, many of whom have gone on to prominent and successful careers in the profession. Applications are accepted from students worldwide.
