圣安德鲁斯大学语言要求

　　The University of St Andrews welcomes postgraduate students from many countries. To ensure that you will be able to study successfully, especially on programmes lasting only one year, you must meet our English languagerequirements. We accept the range of qualifications listed below as evidence of English language proficiency.

　　The English language tests listed below are only valid for two years from the date of issue. Moreover, scores must be achieved at a single sitting of a test; we will not accept individual component scores aggregated from more than one test.

　　IELTS (Academic) (International English Language Testing System)

　　PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English – Academic version)

　　Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)

　　Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)

　　TOEFL

　　If you are from a majority English-speaking country we will not require further evidence of your English language proficiency.

　　If you are taking a Pre-sessional , Presearch or a Pre-Masters Programme before you start your postgraduate degree, check the English language requirements for pre-degree courses.

　　English Language Requirements for Postgraduate (Taught) programmes

　　Level required in IELTS**, by faculty:

　　* Scores in brackets are minimum scores for each component

　　** For the equivalent score in other accepted language qualifications please see Accepted language qualifications below. We do not require the GMAT.

　　Students who require to develop their English language and academic literacy may benefit from our pre-sessional courses and may be required to attend as a condition of their offer.

　　English Language Requirements for Postgraduate (Research) programmes

　　Research students are assessed on a case by case basis. Students are generally expected to have a score of IELTS 6.5 – 7.0 or equivalent. Students who require to develop their English language and academic literacy may benefit from our pre-sessional or presearch courses and may be required to attend as a condition of their offer.

　　English Language Requirement for Pre-Masters Programme

　　Equivalent scores for English language tests

　　BSc/BA/MA from an appropriate institution in the UK or a Majority English Speaking Country.

　　Providing your English language evidence to the University

　　Please do not wait for your test results before you apply to the University. If you have not yet achieved a test score which will satisfy the English language requirement for your programme when you apply, this will form part of any conditional offer we make you.

　　If you have already satisfied our English language requirements, please include the details along with your other qualifications in the appropriate section of your application form.
