  To help with study and living costs, Lancaster University offers postgraduates a range of scholarship, studentships and bursaries.

  Postgraduate Scholarships available for 2015/16 Entry

  Lancaster University is pleased to announce 2 new scholarships for students starting a taught Master’s degree at Lancaster from October 2015.

  Alumni Loyalty Scholarship

  Lancaster University will offer a reduction in tuition fees to all taught Master’s programmes for eligible applicants, determined by the level of undergraduate award achieved. The value of the scholarship is as follows:

  20% fee reduction for 1st Class Hons degree holders

  10% fee reduction for 2:1 Hons degree holders

  Who is eligible?

  To be eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Scholarship you must either:

  Hold an undergraduate degree from Lancaster University (achieved at any time) or

  Hold an undergraduate degree from Lancaster University, achieved at any time, including one delivered through an associated institution, or

  Have graduated from one of our partner institutions with a Lancaster University degree (LU Ghana; Sunway University Malaysia; Goenka Institution India; or COMSATS Pakistan) or

  Have studied at Lancaster University via our Study Abroad programme

  The Scholarship is open to all our Alumni, regardless of their nationality or year of graduation. You do not need to apply for this scholarship, you will qualify automatically if you meet the eligibility criteria and the course entry requirements

  Lancaster Master’s Scholarship

  Lancaster University is offering over 100 scholarships worth £10,000 each as part of a government initiative to offer additional support for students wishing to progress to Master’s level study. The Scheme is open to UK/EU students who began their studies after 1st September 2012.

  Who is eligible?

  There are specific criteria that must be satisfied in order to qualify for one of these awards, and initially we would ask you to consider the following, all of which must be met. You must be:

  progressing from an undergraduate course (in the UK) for which you were charged the higher tuition fee applying since 2012/13 and

  not in receipt of undergraduate fee subsidies from Student finance Wales, Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) or Student Finance Northern Ireland and

  an English student who studied your undergraduate course at an institution in the UK for which you were charged the higher tuition fee applying since 2012-13 or

  a non-UK, EU student who studied your undergraduate course at an institution in England for which you were charged the higher tuition fee applying since 2012-13 and

  in receipt of an academic offer to undertake a Master’s * course in any subject and

  intending to study full-time, or part-time for a maximum of two years and

  domiciled in the UK or European Union (EU) and paying the UK/EU tuition fee rate and

  not already qualified at masters level or above

  *PG Diplomas and PG Certificates are not covered by this Scheme, nor are Master’s courses which are funded by other public bodies. MRes courses for which a majority of the degree is based on independent research and is categorised by the University as a research programme are also not included in the Scheme.

  In addition to meeting all of the above, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  have a low family household income (typically under £42,620 gross)

  are in receipt of a maintenance grant from the UK Government in the final year of your undergraduate course

  are in receipt of a special support grant from the UK Government in the final year of your undergraduate course

  are eligible for Disabled Students Allowance in the final year of your undergraduate course

  were a care leaver

  immediately prior to starting your undergraduate degree, your postcode was in a low participation neighbourhood as measured by Polar 3. To meet this criterion your address must fall into quintile 1 or 2. You can check your postcode here.
