In the picture, there stands a tree full of fruit on one side of the stream. Across the stream, a man is trying to reach out on the edge of the band for the fruit with a net attached to a pole. Not far away there is a bridge that can lead him to the tree for more fruit.

The message conveyed in the picture is clear. In pursuing a dream, we might focus on only one say of making it come true, forgetting that there may be alternatives. As indicated in the picture, if the man is willing to look for other possibilities, he can find a better and more rewarding way to achieve his goal. All he has to do is to turn around, cross the bridge and walk to the tree.

The flat is on the third floor with 3 rooms, one of which is bedroom, the other two are bathroom and kitchen. 　　随着2014年英语考试结束铃声的响起，2014年的高考工作彻底落下了帷幕。今年是北京市第13年自主命题英语试卷，无论从题目的难度，还是题型的设置，都基本延续了2013年北京卷的出题模式。当然，北京卷的题目一直在全国所有的英语试卷中有所改变和创新。虽然，今年的试卷没有像全国卷、山东卷或者辽宁卷一样出现题目的删减和添加，但是作文方向的改动，仍旧成为今年北京高考英语试题的一大关注点。

　　自2010年北京英语试卷纳入新课标卷范畴以来，北京卷的英语试题从结构上来说，基本稳定，分别包含了听力(包含听写)、单项选择、完形填空、阅读理解、阅读题空、情景作文和开放作文等7个部分，满分150分。不过，今年北京卷的英语试题出现了一个较大的变动，在客观题目类型和分值不变的情况下，作文部分改为应用文写作和情景作文，分值分别为15分和20分。北京新东方优能中学名师陶然表示，这种变化对于2014年的北京考生而言，应该算是利好的消息。一是因为应用文写作为高一的写作重点，考生从高一就开始接触这类作文写法;二是全国多数省份高考英语试卷写作部分均为应用文写作，所以考生在考前的复习资料相对较为丰富。

　　从应用文的出题角度来看，应用文包括书信、通知和演讲稿，全国多数省份考察的重点均为书信的写法，今年北京的英语试卷也延续了这一传统，考察的为道歉信。这类书信应该重点关注格式规范、语气合理及交际感强等三个方面。

　　众所周知，应用文写作的格式非常重要，前面应该有称呼，开头有寒暄的句子，结尾有礼貌用语，最后必须出现落款。若题目中开头结尾已给出，那么需要在答题纸上再写一遍，否则会相应扣除一定分数。道歉信的语气为诚恳，因此推荐学生在写作中出现sincerely, from the bottom of my heart等词汇。若在写作中，语气不合适，作文的分数应该在12分以下。除了上面提到了两个注意事项之外，各位考生在写道歉信的时候，尤其要留心语言使用。陶然不建议考生在应用文写长难句，或者语法结构过于复杂，用词太偏的句子。这类作文重视的交际感，即与收信人的沟通，所以陶然建议考生在写作时，可以使用短小精炼的句子，用词不见得非得多么难，只要准确，达到交流的要求即可。只要满足了这几个方面，相信各位考生的应用文写作分数应该会比较客观。

　　北京卷从2002年开始自主命题，而且从第一次命题起，情景作文就是北京高考英语试卷中最为与众不同的部分。在过往的12年题目中，除了2004年和2006年之外，其它年份的情景作文全部考察的是4幅图的记叙文写作，今年也不例外。从主题上来讲，今年北京卷考察了"社会热点"这一主题，体裁为"稿件"，这些内容全部都是之前写作部分的重点复习内容，相信考生在处理的时候应该并不陌生。与应用文写作不同，情景作文重点关注的是开篇精彩、中篇清晰、尾部饱满三个方面。
