　　现在我们来到古城入口，大家可以看到一面大型浮雕墙。墙上的人物形象类似僧人，但在纳西文化中，他是一位东巴，功能类似于基督教的祭司，在纳西人的信仰生活中极为重要。

　　往前走我们会看到一块白色照壁，上面刻有前领导人江泽民于1997年5月2日的题词：“世界文化遗产——丽江古城”。

　　大家会发现这座古城没有城墙。相传世袭的丽江统治者姓“木”，如果“木”字外加框或墙，就成了“困”字，寓意困局。因此古城不设围墙，与中国其他古城截然不同。

　　请大家注意这两个水车，它们被称为情侣水车或母子水车。不论象征何种意义，它们都代表着永远相依。

　　请随我走上玉龙桥。源自玉龙雪山的泉水被分为三股主流及多条支流穿城而过。给大家一个小提示：古城街巷纵横，形如迷宫。如果迷路，只需逆流而上即可找到出口。

　　大家都到齐了吗？我们现在进入古城。脚下的道路与溪流并行，堵塞时可引水冲洗，因此雨季不泥泞，旱季无尘土。古城因水而存，城内溪流众多，建有350多座木石桥梁，其中以百岁桥和大石桥（又称“门桥”）最为著名。

　　穿过大石桥，我们来到四方街。因其形似一方寓意“权镇四方”的官印，这里成为古城的中心。四方街由新华、五一、七一、光义、新义五条主街环绕，四通八达。
